Works by children with HIV

The Catalyst Gallery in Beacon will host an exhibition, The Art of Healing, on Sunday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., of artwork by children with HIV who live in a home in Nairobi.

Proceeds from sales of the artwork will benefit Nyumbani, which runs the home.

“I’m hoping to validate the kids’ work, and to encourage them to pursue their art, to foster their creativity,” says curator Susan Jelcich. Art can be their “their strength, their nourishment.”
