Jerry Landisi is running for re-election as the representative for District 18 on the Dutchess County Legislature. John Forman is running for re-election as the representative for District 16, which includes Fishkill and part of Beacon.
While it is true that both incumbents are registered with the Independence Party, for Forman, is relatively recent. In 2013, he was a registered Republican. The Committee to Re-elect John V. Forman has reported no activity to the state Board of Elections so far in 2017.
As for Landisi, according the disclosure forms filed with the New York State Board of Elections, the Town of Fishkill Republican Committee is the authorized committee for his campaign.

Posner is the treasurer of Beacon Democrats. Given that this letter was received close to Election Day, we asked Forman and Landisi if they would like to respond. Both said they did not.
