Fedorchak to be succeeded by deputy
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has appointed Caroline Blackburn as the next county attorney.
She will succeed Jim Fedorchak, who has been county attorney for the past decade and will retire at the end of October. Blackburn, the chief assistant county attorney, will be the first woman to serve in the top role.
Fedorchak was appointed in 2010. Blackburn will be named as acting county attorney by County Executive Marc Molinaro on Nov. 1; the Legislature must confirm her appointment. She has been an assistant county attorney since 2013.
